I like arena fighters cause I think they are fun but the newest ones to come out seem to all be cash grabs however exception being demon slayers yes connections is basically storm 4 problem is it’s much better than 4 because the combos and character roster is slightly bigger than the rest at least they could have made it select jutsu and other things but it’s a cheap arena fighter why would they want to do that but I feel this new dragon ball game is gonna be a cheap crap and a mess when it comes out I bet the net codes gonna run like xenoverses net code and the animation in the game looks horrible but not only that coloration is off and random camera angles that don’t help in a fighting situation

You should check out Anarchy Reigns, it’s a pretty decent arena fighter done right. It was developed by Platinum the devs behind Bayonetta and MGRR. Also, you left out the raging blast games, lmao. Great video either way. As for Naruto, the series had a bunch of games, from RPGs on the DS to open-world adventure games. There was the Clash of Ninja series, which was pretty good, unfortunately, it’s the Storm series that gets to live on. I feel like the lack of completion made them complacent later on.

The jujutsu kaisen game i want is actually an immersive sim like dishonored. You are a new student in the tokyo school and you start by creating your character and choosing your innate cursed technique. You would play missions defeating from grade 4s until grade 1s by using any method you prefer, be it stealthy or just blowing everything up. You would also be able to obtain new skills that are universal or tied to your innate technique. After a while you would also be able to tackle online missions with other players and even against other players

The end point is a bit of a contradiction. The problem isn’t the genre, it’s the lack of polish fed into the genre. I personally love arena fighters, even the ones that follow a formula.

The only anime arena fighter im gonna buy at this point is Storm 5 & My Hero One Justice 3. Storm 5 goes without saying but i never bought connections. The Disappointing Return of Naruto Storm video gave me the fnal realization that this wasnt needed. I accepted that I'll be sham'd just for additions the next game gonna get anyways. Connections is no different than revolution and generations, filer cash ins. It's no different from buyjng a Atlus rerelease My Hero at least it had 2 entries before it and got better with the next installament so with 3 being the next after 2 it should be good enough. It'll have every mha character and be on next gen. No less its the best arena in recent times

I'm an active player of Ultra Rumble, and i gotta say, it is really fun. There is a better way to get more tickets per season, through the Hero license, which you can consistently get as long as you won't use your crystals. It costs as much as 100 tickets in the store, but you get 150 tickets overall as well as a bunch of other things like skins and voice lines. It's also getting new characters all the time, and while it is gacha, it does also have a pity systen. So it's recommended you wait until they release a really cool character that you like, or skill set. Nothing quite compares to going across the map with Mirio to help your team out!

My biggest issue with this game is that the balance is whack. Money is way too easy to get, and you can just buy like 4 swap character spaces items at once. When everyone is doing this, it just comes down to the turn order. It will give you items on your last turn when you can't even use them, and the worst is when someone lands on a demon surprise attack space. it just randomly punishes players indiscriminately every time rather than the person who landed on it. Doesn't give a roulette of possible consequences, doesn't create a minigame where the loser is punished, or everyone except the winner is punished. Nope, it just picks at random and chops your rank point count, effectively taking any effort or strategy and throwing it down the drain out of pure RNG. I get that it's mario party and RNG is a big part of it.. but when the player who consistently played the worst wins in the end because a Muzan boosted demon chopped everyone's else's points by 1/3 in the last 5 turns, then what's the point? The entire game gets decided by that space regardless of how many times you strategically got to the destination or how many times you did the best during the demon battles. The game brings you from first to last place, or vice versa out of no fault of your own on a whim due to this one space. For the sheer sake of proving a point, I deliberately went full troll with 3 other people and made sure to hit this space every time I could, and it resulted in the winner being entirely random and decided by this one space. No amount of getting destinations, slaying demons or winning minigames made any impact on this. Whoever got their points reduced the least by these spaces won the game 100% of the time. The presence of this event alone ruined the game for us .

Sparking zero is going to do very well. It's the return of a now classic title, Dragon Ball is still very popular, and the game clearly has a lot of time effort put into. Also the reviews from people who have played it are pretty positive. How NB takes away that it sold because it's an anime arena fighter will be the wrong take and pretty mind boggling. After a series of flops like JJK and Jump Force, it's hard to fathom not understanding that putting effort into a project equates to a better chance at success. It's cray this even has to be said and that we hope that this very normal, and obvious conclusion is reached.

One's Justice 2 is the best example of a development team taking criticism and feedback seriously and creating a better product for it. All its really missing is a sizeable budget, doesn't matter how good your development team is, they'll only be able to do so much with what they are given and they are definitely not getting the same love and budget DBZ and Naruto typically get.

One of the things I hate about anime games based on shows i love is that they're all either arena fighters or fighting games. Nothing wrong with those genre's, its just I would love to play through the story of the anime, playing the parts from the show. How cool would a Gurren Lagann game be if you actually fought against the anti spiral in the galaxy? Instead they don't make that and just have generic fighters that don't retell the story, or even have one to begin with. The only one that did/does it right is the Dragon Ball Z game a while back that had depth and complex gameplay that felt free and retold the main story. When I heard of a One Punch Man game I had my hope shatter when I saw it was just another fighting game.

Man, the Bamco arena fighting curse isn't even just anime games. 2012 had Kamen Rdier Super Climax Heroes, a 3d fighter with like 60 characters with each one feeling fairly unique. The next two Climax games were straight up arena fighters with only like 30 characters and they all play just awfully. We haven't had another Climax game since 2018.

I wish anime games tried their hand at the formula Fullmetal Alchemist PS2 games had, RPG platforming beatemups. Those game were so fun, dope, and really did the source material justice. Beating Scar (a battle you were supposed to lose) was so hype. Imagining something like that at a grander scale with modern consoles, my God...

Xenoverse is by far the best anime game series. None of the other games last a year while XV2 has been going strong forever 5+ years

I don't think this genre is chosen because it's cheap. Are you implying 2D fighting games are somehow more expensive than 3D games? In what way? It's chosen because it's more appealing to the audiences due to feeling more authentic to the source materials it generally tries to adapt. Combine this with casualized controls and you should get some decent sales. It is a shame that there are no 3D Arena Fighters not based on an established property, the potential is certainly there. edit after watching a bit further: Is the entire video just you going over the metacritic pages for various arena fighters and narrating the general talking points? Kind of puts into perspective the whole point of those who criticize the genre, you guys haven't even played the games you're so desperate to shit all over.

it's a sad state of affairs for licensed anime games when im more impressed when their game installements AREN'T arena fighters, like Fairy Tail being able to get away with being a Turn based RPG (that's getting a sequel) is impressive, don't know if the actual game is good or not, but you'd think a shonen like fairy tail would fall into that trap.

0:37 I get what you mean, but it’s VERY different from most arena fighters. It seems to take a lot of inspiration of the Final Fantasy Dissidia series. It’s an interesting system completely butchered by clunky EVERYTHING in the actual game.

Saint Seiya: Soldier's Soul is still one of my fav arena fighters along with DBZ BT3, J-Stars Victory and Gundam Extreme VS Maxiboost On.

I think you should have also gone over the other arena fighters Dragon Ball had post Tenkaichi. Raging Blast, Zenkai Battle, Battle of Z, and maybe Ultimate Tenkaichi.

The only thing angrying me that they still didn't made a dlc for entertainment district arc😡😡😡😡 . Relieving tengen vs gyotaro with multiple QTE by button smashing like tenkaichi games. But still this game is way better than any other anime games except dragon ball and naruto.
